Origin & Purpose

Founded in 1997 by Julie Kimball-Kubiak with purpose of professional consultation & collaboration of mental health professionals in Michigan with expertise & passion in trauma, attachment, and adoption.

Commitment to strengthening professional development of members within the group by engaging in trainings locally and nationally.

Developing of collaborative relationships with additional professional service providers locally and nationally that our clients may need. i.e. psychiatrists, occupational therapists, residential treatment facilities, etc.

Providing community trainings for families and professionals on issues of trauma, attachment and adoption.
Shared Training Philosophy

Extensively trained in attachment theory and research, on impact of developmental trauma for children, and the challenges of parenting children with trauma histories.

Share expertise on the seven core issues of adoption.

Share a passion for embracing and teaching a therapeutic parenting paradigm to adoptive parents.

Variety of expertise training and years of experience including but not limited to the following approaches: Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Theraplay, Infant Mental Health, and adoption sensitivity.
Operations

All therapists and psychologists are private practitioners that manage their own businesses.

All members manage their own scheduling, their own handling of payment & insurance, and their own policies on in person therapy vs. telehealth therapy.

All members are responsible for their own services provided. Coalition members serve only as consultants to each other.
